The Pan-American Highway is the longest road in the world, stretching about 19,000 miles (30,000 km) from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushuaia at the southern tip of Argentina.
It passes through 14 countries and covers diverse terrains, including jungles, deserts, mountains, and beaches.
While most of the highway is continuous, a 100-kilometer (60-mile) stretch known as the DariƩn Gap between Panama and Colombia remains incomplete due to challenging terrain and environmental and safety concerns.
